The Beaton Investment Fund was established in 2010 to invest private equity in small to mid-sized professional and services firms.

The Fund will invest in targeted professional service firms with significant operations based in Australia and the UK, but in some cases operating globally. The firms will be characterised as having strong leadership, operating in a growing market, profitable with strong cash flows, distinctive and defendable intellectual capital or competitive advantage, attractive valuation and entry price, potential for increasing the value of the firm, capacity to make the business independent of key individuals and provide a clear ‘natural owner’ that forms the basis of an eventual exit opportunity. The Fund will not invest in start-up or seed opportunities.

The Fund has made two investments to date and is seeking further opportunities that may cover management buy-outs, management buy-ins, sector consolidation, expansion capital and pre-IPO finance.
